Psalm 31

Just living life we all need a measure of God’s grace… but there are times when that grace just doesn’t seem like it’s enough

“He giveth more grace” (James 4:6)

“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you” (2 Pet 1:2)

I want to do several messages regarding what grace looks like during trials and then what grace looks like during temptations

I.    You must know the LORD and trust in His sovereign knowledge (vv. 7, 8)

So while David has “trouble” he recognizes if it were not for God he would have more

The Lord is watching over us: 1 Peter 3:12; Psalm 139:1

II.   You must know that while God is being gracious you may still be going through difficult trials (vv. 9-13)

Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

The psalmist (in Psalm 42) doesn’t let his thinking control him, but he controls his thinking
