Theme: The flat earth arguments present a lot of heat, but not clarity.
Matt 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Last week:
The Lord warned about the last days
The Lord warned about topics that gender strifes
We looked at some of the passages: used out of context or twisted from their figures of speech
This MUST come from a conspiracy mindset
It is coming from the postmodern mindset – there is no absolute truth (not initiated by Christians)
Mankind is often looking for something new to believe and something old to disbelieve/discredit
For some it is coming from a genuine question regarding God’s Word, but often refusing the fundamental explanation
YouTube & internet driven and not church theology driven
You can probably break down to the points of the flat earth theory to about four. What they often do is add scripture to them to “substantiate” their point
Those that believe in the flat earth theory overlook the truth that is clear to find a hidden “truth” that isn’t there (Deut 29:29)
They often read everything as literally – especially when it supports their argument
I believe that the Bible teaches a literal creation of 6-24 hour days. I also believe in a “young earth” of just over 6,000 years
What to say to someone that wants to talk to you about flat earth
I looked at some of the verses and I am not convinced to change my belief
Context and figures of speech are often overlooked by those teaching that the earth is flat
I would rather talk about what the Lord is doing in my life
I will respect your personal belief and would appreciate that you would respect mine (individual soul liberty)
Get your theology from studying God’s Word or at church and not from the internet
Many flat earth believing Christians ultimate leave the church out of frustration with the lack of acceptance
