Sermon 13: How to have a Genuine Relationship with God
Text: Galatians 5:14-17
Theme: A genuine relationship with God must be directed by God’s Spirit.
One of my favorite messages was a message that I preached 1/19 A Daily Walk w/ God
Ge 5:22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years…
It’s intensive verb – keeping his focus, wanting it
It’s a reciprocal verb – because He walks w/ me
It’s an imperfect verb – never complete
How can I walk w/ God
Because He wants to walk w/ you!!
Because He has given us His Spirit – you are indwelt by the Spirit of God
Because I am not just forgiven; I have been made righteous!!
I. Walking in the Spirit is crucial to your spiritual victory (vv. 14-17)
II. Walking in the Spirit is your life being controlled by God’s Spirit (v. 16)
Are you under the control/influence of your flesh or of God’s Spirit?

They that walk in the Spirit MIND (pay attention to) the things of the Spirit and are LED (directed) by the Spirit of God
