Sermon 15: Living in Anticipation of the Coming of Christ
Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:14, 15
Theme: The church is full of people needing to be ministered to.
What we expect is not always what we find. The problem is when we go into a church we don’t expect to find any problems. What does God’s Word have to say about that?
How would you describe the disciples? What would you expect to see? (Matt 26)
Every church had sin mentioned
The unruly – ready to rebel, undisciplined, bad testimony – one who needs confronted
The feebleminded – discouraged, worried, emotions – one who needs encouragement
The weak – without strength (phy/spirit/emotion) – one who needs counseling or extra care
Those we need to suffer long w/ - offensive – one who needs time
Those that you feel like getting even w/ - one who needs mercy
