Sermon 11: How to have a Genuine Relationship with God
Text: John 15
Theme: When your relationship deepens you stay with the one you love.
This message in particular should be able to help those that are in the Word of God daily and still feeling like there is something more – abundant (John 10:10)
God has always wanted to produce fruit through His people (Isa 5:1-4)
John 15 is about the necessity of the branch staying connected to the Vine in order to bear fruit – the indispensable element of Christianity
I. The necessity for you to abide (v. 4)
For a branch to bear fruit it must stay connected to the vine
II. The promise for you if you abide (v. 5)
Those that “walk in the Spirit” will bear the “fruit of the Spirit”. Those that abide in the Vine will bear much fruit
The two unanswered questions (so far in the sermon)
1. What is the fruit?
2. What is it to abide?
